Foundation Programme 2027: pre-allocation now follows your medical school, not your home address
The UKFPO has published what is changing for the 2027 Foundation Programme. The biggest one is pre-allocation: if you have children or a health condition, the foundation school you can be pre-allocated to is now the one local to your medical school rather than the one local to where you live.

Gamechanger for certain healthcare students: placement travel & accommodation, paid in advance of spending
From the 2026/27 academic year, healthcare students with full access to the NHS Learning Support Fund will be able to get placement travel and accommodation money upfront, instead of paying it first themselves and claiming it back.

IMT Application Changes for 2027 Announced!
IMT recruitment has confirmed what is changing for 2027. The self-assessment matrix is being rebalanced away from publications and towards presentations, the five points for applying only to IMT have been removed, and abstracts can no longer be claimed as publications.
