I was stalked

The Handover: "People can’t invite you if they can’t find you".

The Ward Round: I was stalked

I applied for work experience last month and the surgeon mentioned my social media before I’d even sat down.

I hadn’t told them it existed. They’d already looked me up.

Most healthcare professionals treat LinkedIn like a dusty filing cabinet. Job title. Trust. Dates. A list of places you’ve been tired.

(And if you don’t have LinkedIn - get one. At the very least, it’s useful for stalking people).

When your headline says “Band 6 Nurse” or “Resident Doctor at NHS', you’re not a person. You’re a unit of labour. One of many.

You need to increase your searchability.

Not because you want to leave healthcare, but because it opens doors within it. Speaking invites. Projects. Roles you never formally apply for.

Move from “the person who shows up” to “the person who solves this problem".

Do this today (5 - 10 minutes):

  • Delete “Job Title at Trust”

  • Job Title | Niche | Helping X do Y Example: Registrar | Clinical AI | Helping hospitals stop hating their computers

  • If it’s not on your profile, it didn’t happen

Your digital profile is the handover people read before they meet you.

Make it count.

As promised, value in less time than it took you to log in to an NHS computer.
